Cataclysm: This guild formed at the tailend of TBC, whereupon we raided through to and including Ulduar 25. I was an officer and we were fairly successful, clearing the place bar Alganon. Unfortunately, the summer of 2009 was a cruel mistress and we made a collective decision to disband the guild based on the fact we only had 13 people show up on Wednesdays. Yes, wednesdays.
Inner Faith: I joined Inner Faith with some friends I had made in Cataclysm. I played my hunter to begin with, however owing to personal issues I had to take a 2 month hiatus, whereupon I filled a holy paladin slot as my absence had solicited the recruitment of more hunters. I play in this guild currently on my character, Esuná. Unfortunately, the raiding schedule has declined to once a week at a push. Summer 2010 is shaping up to match it's predecessor and the leadership have announced an end to progression until Cataclysm.
The problem here is that I wish to progress, which has left me with the dileema of parting ways with people I have known for a long time.
How often do you play?
How often do I not play would be a shorter answer, let's put it that way
Raiding Info
What days can you raid?
All of your required, plus any additional as planned.
What's the best time for you to raid?
From 10 (EU) onwards is fine.
What is your raid experience?
WotLK: All up to Ruby Sanctum (Alganon only on 10)
Do you have any log parsers like WWS or wordoflogs on a boss fight?
Only if you want to see healing done for my holy paladin, alt runs are not logged.
Personal Info
Why do you want to join us?
Judging by your recruitment post on the MMO Champ forums, you sound like a bunch of people I can commit too. An adult atmosphere with a friendly approach to raiding.
How did you hear about us?
I'm primarily interested in a late night raiding guild owing to how things going on in real life are, so I did a blanket search for guilds that fit the ticket and you ticked all my boxes.
I'm afraid that's not a euphemism.
Do you know someone from our guild
I wouldn't know anyone from Adam, I'm afraid. If you have someone named Adam, I don't know him either.
We usually raid from 23h00 to 01h00 (server time), from Sunday to Thursday. Is that ok with you?
Couldn't be better.
Thirty four players have signed up for tonight's raid. You were the 3rd person to sign up, but you're not in the final 25. What would you do? (Feel free to give us a true answer, and not the one we're expecting you to)
Well, expecting preference to be given to the order of who signed when on the raid calander is a bit silly to begin with, as there are too many other variables to consider when forming a raid group.
Personally, as an officer in a previous guild, I've come to understand the sometimes tough decisions a raid leader has to make to form a valid group with the correct synergy for the task at hand. I would have no problem sitting out or warming the bench.
Other Personal Info
How old are you?
21
Where are you from?
London, England. It's a small island, you've probably never heard of it.
Why did you start playing?
I was 17 and easily led. I have also used this excuse many, many times for other things and I tend to get away with them.
What are your hobbies
I love my fitness and part of the reason I'm on the lookout for a late night raiding guild is because I'm a member of a gym which is a fair distance away and I get back at about 9 GMT (10 server time).
I also love music and fiction novels. If you held a gun to my head and asked me for my favourite band, I wouldn't hesitate in saying Muse. Personally I would recommend checking out the songs Plug In Baby and New Born if you haven't heard of them before. They really are amazing and I can't wait to go see them live in September.
Book wise, you'd probably have to shoot me because I couldn't name just one author. I'm generally into Sci-Fi and fantasy, particularly steampunk. Phillip Reeves' Mortal Engines is an awesome series of books, as is Garth Nix's Abhorsen series.
Other info you might find worth mentioning:
Hi, my name is Sam, I'm a legal secretary from London and I enjoy long walks along beaches and picnics at midnight.
I'm also a guy and before you start joking about my job, you can't possibly say something I haven't heard before.
I suppose this is a good place to mention I'll be away in Denmark for the entirety of next week on a guild meet with Inner Faith. I love meeting people (but promise not to stalk you or at least tell you that I'm stalking you) and have become real life friends with people from both Cataclysm and Inner Faith (funnily enough, this will mean I have attended guild meets in other countries for both guilds). I like to think that I'm easy to get on with and generally sociable.
Aside from this short break, I will be in full attendance at all times.
If you want me to answer any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
The armory for my paladin, which I have done all of my 3.3 raiding experience on is http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Anachronos&cn=Esun%C3%A1
By the way, if you're really allergic to reading, I apologise for putting you through this. Any spontaneous combustion of your eyes was purely accidental and I thank you for your sacrifice nonetheless. I trust my application was worth it.
Comments on my Gear You'll probably notice that really bad 232 helm I have. Yeah, I pretty much have to wear that at the moment, even though I have ICC items in my bag, for the two set which is still AT LEAST a 300 DPS upgrade over breaking it. Ideally, it shouldn't be broken until I have 4 parts tier 10, as the new set bonus PLUS the upgraded stats make the exchange worth it.
Sad, but true. Critting serpent sting as MM is pretty huge.
I've also not hit the necessary amount of "passive" ArP to regem in case you were curious.
Also, the lack of the ability to paragraph in the application template makes me cringe at how much I've written.

Whitecell, thank you for your application to Past Tense. Very nice application, makes a change for someone to actually put some time and effort into an app.
Please keep an eye on here, for any updates, questions or more information etc.
However, let me be totally honest with you at this point, we do NOT recruit ALT Characters to RAID. We have a strict rule regarding this. If you need to clarify the situation to us, feel free to do so.
As mentioned (in our adverts), we are raiding ICC-HC atm and we will help people with "Gear" issues (to an extent, so long as our progression isnt compromised). We are here to invest in the Raider, and we inturn expect that person to know his / her class, to have experience with THAT class as well as raiding content. We also expect each raider inturn to invest in the guild as well...
So for us to gear up an ALT over a Main is a NO-NO within our main raids.
If you feel you need to give me more information etc, either give me a whisper in game (make a lvl1 toon), or leave a message on here.
Shó

I feel I should have probably clarified the main/alt question. Whitecell has been my most consistant character in this expansion, however I swapped to roles that are required by my guild. For instance, the sole reason I was playing holy paladin was so I could continue to play with people I had known. My current server seems to have a distinct lack of them and we only had two total (including myself).
I theorycraft and have an immense bond with the class, which I believe is showed in my disregard for higher iLvl gear to ensure that best possible performance I can with my character. In fact, I'm sure I spend the majority of my time at work playing around with DPS spreadsheets, but don't tell my employer that.
I did however feel that answering the main character question as "no" was apt as all the 3.3 groundwork I have done is on my paladin for this reason. I have no intention of continuing to raid on any other character in the event that I am accepted and rest assured investment in a guild is something I believe in.
If you would like any further clarification and/or information, please feel free to ask.

Re: Application: Whitecell (Hunter)
Hello whitecell
nice app i have been looking over ur toon and running the stats through my own sreadsheet which i have built and tbh found that with ur crrent gear u should be using either 251 t10helm and over the 2 set bonus from the t9 but only by 3.7 dps so not a great improvement. Leggings of Northern Lights and from t10 would be enough to make regeming a much bigger dps again. i worked this out to be near 900+ with a change of gems and 2 bits of gear. that said with what you have nice work its nice to see hunter working out at what point they need to change (but this is all dependent on drops) so some questions i tend to ask hunters just to get a feel for them
what u feel about the changed to focus and why
hunter pets auto or u sort the command's ur self
when i a typical raid what sort of dps you hitting (10 / 25)
prefered fights in ICC and why
/Nep

Heya Nep, thank you for your reply.
Alas, I am not one with RNG and do not own Northern Lights or other select items I would break the 2 set for. It's been so bad that I am contemplating crafting the Draconics.

What you feel about the change to focus and why
A lot of people are making doomsday predictions over this change and shirking the hunter class for it. Personally, I see it as an improvement. Ever been in a raid with a paladin who won't/aren't in a position to judge JoW? Pet peeve of mine and frankly I don't see a problem with learning focus management. It's no different than having to relearn certain aspects of any class after an expansion.
Having studied beta videos and the current focus regen mechanics on the latest beta build, it appears that our burst in PvE won't be affected as much as people like to make it out to be. I look forward to trying it out myself (I am actively praying for a beta invite).

Hunter Pets: Auto or manual command
A combination of both. I have Kill Command macro'd to Steady Shot, Aimed and Chimera. I also have Call of the Wild macro'd to Rapid Fire. Dash is left on for maximum effect on the start of a fight and I have cower bound for when it is necessary (i.e. Mimiron's AOE effect, for example).

DPS - 10/25 ICC
The ICC buff was either 0 or 5% previous to my hiatus and I believe my DPS for festergut 25N was 10k. I actually found an old log here. http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-1 ... 021&e=2316. Other fights are included in this log as well. Didn't realise it hadn't expired!

Prefered fights in ICC and why
I love Festergut, especially if hunters are given central positions. I also love Bloodqueen as I find the chaotic nature of the fight especially enjoyable. Professor Putricide is also one of my favourites as it features a lot of movement, which is an opportune time to improve upon countering one of the main weaknesses of our class.
